The Red Caboose Motel is just that – a motel where the guests actually spend the night sleeping in their own caboose.
Imagine how much fun this could be! Sleeping 2-6, many of the units have multiple beds. Some have bunk beds. One even has a jacuzzi. This motel is great for families, groups, even romantic getaways.
Caboose not for you? We also have our historic farmhouse, featuring 4 efficiency suites, and our gorgeous Conductor’s Quarters, designed and modeled after an actual train station in Mars, Pennsylvania, which offers the highest level of sophistication and comfort.

The Red Caboose also has its own 175-seat restaurant, Casey Jones’ Restaurant, in two full-size railroad cars, featuring dine-in, outdoor deck seating, takeout, and even caboose room service! The restaurant overlooks the tracks of the Strasburg Rail Road – you can watch the train pass by while you enjoy your meal. When Thomas is in town, you might see him, too. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
Don’t miss seeing an original show or other live entertainment at our state-of-the-art, newly renovated Pennsylvania Bank Barn: The Barn at Paradise Station. Groups will also love dining family style (reservations required) with gorgeous and sweeping views of the Pennsylvania farmland and the Strasburg Rail Road steam engines.
The Red Caboose Motel is just north of Route 741 and two miles from downtown Strasburg. From the motel, you can look across the cornfields and see all the commotion at the Strasburg Rail Road’s yards.
