Sleep in a Real Caboose!

The Red Caboose Motel is just that – a motel where the guests actually spend the night sleeping in their own caboose. Imagine how much fun this could be! Sleeping 2-6, many of the units have multiple beds. Some have bunk beds. One even has a jacuzzi. This motel is great for families, groups, even romantic getaways. Caboose not for you? We also have The Shady Rest Hotel, featuring 4 bed and breakfast style units in our historic farmhouse on the property.

See a photo gallery of some of their cabooses (or is it “cabboosi”? or “cabice”?).
The Red Caboose also has its own 175-seat restaurant, Casey Jones’ Restaurant (link???) in two full-size railroad cars, featuring dine-in, outdoor deck seating takeout, and even caboose room service! The restaurant overlooks the tracks of the Strasburg Rail Road – you can watch the train pass by while you enjoy your meal. When Thomas is in town, you might see him, too. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
The Red Caboose Motel is just north of  Route 741 and two miles from downtown Strasburg. From the motel, you can look across the cornfields and see all the commotion at the Strasburg Rail Road’s yards. The motel is right next door to the National Toy Train Museum and around the corner from the Choo Choo Barn, Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and the Strasburg Train Shop, not to mention just minutes away from Sight & Sound Theatres, American Music Theatre, Dutch Wonderland, outlet shopping and more!
You and your family can pack in a whole bunch of train-related fun here in historic Strasburg, and then retire to your very own caboose to spend the night. Make a memory that is sure to last a lifetime. Sweet dreams!
