Steam Train Ride Past Amish Farmlands of Lancaster County
Strasburg Rail Road takes you directly through the heart of Pennsylvania Amish Country with a view of more than 2,500 acres of breathtaking farmland. Comfortably seated aboard a pristine, authentically restored passenger car, you will embark on a 45-minute, fully-narrated ride behind a real, operating steam locomotive. And, that’s just the beginning of this one-of-a-kind adventure at America’s oldest operating railroad.
Ride first-class, open-air, coach, or choose to dine aboard the train in our authentic wooden dining car. You can also dine at our newly opened Café 1832, for seasonal fare, scratch-made from the freshest ingredients. To dine trackside, order take-out from Café 1832 or pack a lunch to enjoy at one of our convenient picnic groves and recreational areas along the train’s route. At Groff’s Grove enjoy swings, a merry-go-round, see-saws, grills, and more or relax at Leeman Place, situated at the end of our line adjacent to the active Amtrak line.
Back at the station, get your wristband to enjoy our fun extras like the Pint-Sized Pufferbelly, a real miniature steam train that travels around our property; the Cranky Cars, and hand-propelled cars for little ones. Expand your experience with our behind-the-scenes mechanical shop tour.
