The US Army Band, “Pershing’s Own” returns for the area’s largest and best known celebration of America topped off with a spectacular fireworks display. Providing a musical backdrop for many of the nation’s most notable events, The U.S. Army Concert Band has a worldwide reputation for extraordinary musicianship.

Long’s Park Fireworks 2019 Details & Schedule

Time:

  • Fireworks begin around dusk (typically between 9-9:15pm).
  • Concert and other entertainment begins at 7:30pm.
  • Lots of food trucks will be in the park early.

Parking:

  • Inside Long’s Park: There’s only so much room in the park itself, and the parking fills up quickly.
  • Overflow Parking: There’s overflow parking at nearby shopping centers, such as Park City Mall (there’s access to Long’s Park via a pathway next to the train tunnel at the northwest corner of the park) and the new “The Crossing” shopping center (where Wegman’s is) directly across from Harrisburg Pike. These provide short walking times to the entertainment.

  • The concert takes place at the Amphitheatre, near the main entrance of the park (at the traffic light on Harrisburg Pike).
  • The fireworks are set off from around Long’s Pond.

Alternative Places to Watch:

Other popular places to watch the fireworks include (note: you must get the owner’s permission to be on the property… we will not be held responsible for trespassing, etc):

  • Franklin & Marshall Baker Campus (soccer/baseball fields next to Lancaster Country Day School)
  • Park City Mall’s Parking Lot (instead of walking to the park, simply stay at your car)
  • Other parking lots surrounding Park City Mall
  • Parking lots near/along Manheim Pike
  • Parking lots near/along Granite Run Drive
  • Lancaster Health Campus on Harrisburg Pike might be a possibility

Insider Tips & Hints:

  • If watching from Long’s Park itself, get there early!
  • It takes a long time (pun intended) to get out of the park after fireworks, so be patient.
  • In 2018, the show was broadcasted on FOX 43.

About the Long’s Park Fireworks Live Band Performance

The U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own,” returns for Lancaster’s largest and best-known Fourth of July celebration, topped off with a spectacular fireworks display. Having provided a musical backdrop for many of the nation’s most notable events, the U.S. Army Band has a worldwide reputation for extraordinary musicianship.

The musicians in this elite ensemble have been trained at some of the most prestigious music conservatories and universities in the country. Displaying their versatility, its members perform a variety of styles, ranging from classical to popular.

During the summer months, the U.S. Army Band performs outdoor concerts on the West Steps of the U.S. Capitol and at venues throughout the Washington, DC, area. Regular concerts are offered during the cooler months at the United States Army Band’s home, Brucker Hall, located on historic Fort Myer, in Arlington, Virginia.
