5 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Good ‘N Plenty Restaurant

Posted in Happenings on by .

Lancaster County is brimming with great places to eat. From smorgasbords and family-style dining to local diners and fine dining spots, you’ll never find yourself lacking for restaurant choices.

Since 1969, we’ve been known for serving “down home meals” and traditional PA Dutch food (with the fried chicken often quoted as a guest favorite). That will never change! But there are a few things that have changed over the years or maybe just aren’t as well-known about us.

Whether you’re visiting the area for the first time or you’re a Lancaster County native, here are 5 things you might not know about Good ‘N Plenty.

1.  You Get a Free Meal on Your Birthday

Our Birthday Club rewards you with a free meal every year to celebrate your birthday. Visit the day before, the day of, or the day after your birthday and get a free meal with the purchase of another adult meal. The birthday guest also receives a 20% off coupon for a regularly-priced item from our gift shop.

2.  The Ice Cream Is Homemade

Chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry? Difficult to choose, we know.

Our ice cream makers use local ingredients and handcraft each batch of creamy, smooth ice cream on our premises. You have your ice cream served in a cone (cake, pretzel, or waffle) or in a dish. Some of our local guests like to stop in just for ice cream and a visit to our petting zoo with their kids.

3.  There’s an On-Site Petting Zoo & Playground

Speaking of petting zoos…the petting zoo and playground is open during our regular business hours. You’ll find goats, sheep, pigs, horses, ducks, and chickens. There are coin-operated machines that dispense food for the animals. The playground has a swing set and a wooden Amish buggy the kids will love, and a glider swing and picnic table where the adults can relax and keep an eye on things.

4.  Meals Delivered to Your Door With GrubHub

In 2014, we introduced 2Go takeout ordering. More recently, we added online/phone ordering and meal delivery through a partnership with GrubHub.

Ordering is easy too: Select the menu items you want, choose a delivery time and address, and we’ll deliver a delicious, hot meal directly to your door! Nearly all our regular menu items are available through GrubHub.

5.  You Can Order-Ahead Baked Goods

While the fried chicken gets a lot of attention, the fresh-baked goods from our bakery aren’t far behind. Everything in our bakery is made here, from scratch, every day.

When the holiday season is in full swing, sometimes we all can use a helping hand. Order your holiday pies, cookies, bread, rolls, and whoopie pies ahead of time (just give us 2-days’ notice) and breathe a sigh of relief. We’ll have your order ready for pick up and you can check another thing off your “To-Do” list.
