Tour an Original Amish House and Farm
Come learn about the Amish from knowledgeable guides at the original Amish attraction, The Amish Farm and House.
Since 1955 The Amish Farm and House has helped visitors and tour groups experience what Amish life is all about. The Amish Farm and House was the first educational farm museum dedicated to the Amish culture. They’ll help you understand what the Amish believe and why they live the way they do. When you leave here you’ll have a much better understanding and appreciation of the Amish and their lifestyle and culture.
It will be a memorable and an educational experience for the whole family.
The Amish House Tour
Their house tours give guests an informative view of the Old Order Amish lifestyle. They take a respectful and authentic look into Amish culture as their tour guides take you on a room-by-room tour of an original, centuries-old Amish farmhouse.
Guests will learn about how the Amish hold worship services in their homes (they don’t have church buildings), and how their faith affects other aspects of their lives. Learn about Amish schools and education, and how their communities adapt to our modern society. Your knowledgeable tour guide will also explain Amish clothing styles, other distinctive features of the Amish lifestyle, and will answer your questions about Amish life.
Their gift shop offers locally made products for sale, such as Amish made quilts, Amish dolls, handmade wooden products, candles, locally-made jams, jellies, and other food products, Amish related books, and more.
The Amish Farm Tour
Then, you can learn about other facets of Amish culture on a tour of their 15-acre farm. Their farm includes a lime kiln, a bake oven, a summer kitchen, a smoke house, a milk house, a chicken house, an herb garden, a windmill and waterwheels, and a milking cow for the kids.
You’ll find a number of farm animals in their barn and meadows. They may vary year to year or by season, but you’ll often find goats, pigs, turkeys, miniature horse, donkeys, steers, alpacas, and more.
Ever wonder what it is like to be a farmer? Be a farmer for the day and join our Farm Animal Fun tour! Go beyond the fence and cuddle with our baby goats, brush our donkeys and help us collect eggs. Be prepared to get a little dirty, have a lot of fun and learn something new.
You’ll also find various artisans and vendors displaying their crafts at The Amish Farm and House, including a wood carver, a blacksmith, a rope maker, and others. However, not every artisan will be available every day.
Included with your admission is free use of their picnic pavilion and picnic area. Visitors are welcome to bring their lunch or bring takeout meals from a local restaurant that offers take-out service. Enjoy a peaceful, relaxing meal with your family or group.
Goat Yoga
We now also offer goat yoga. Enjoy relaxing yoga alongside playful baby goats. Certified yoga instructors lead all sessions. Register ahead of time for this popular activity!

Inside, you’ll find a working gas stove and gas lights, artwork by Amish children, and much more.
