Lancaster’s Most Unique Show, The Magic Lantern Show Welcomes You!

The only full-time Magic Lantern show in the world is right here in Lancaster County.  Using an antique Magic Lantern, a professional actor or “Showman” brings amazing shows to life right before your eyes! Pre-dating motion pictures, the Magic Lantern uses original, hand painted images from the 1800’s along with story-telling, music, comedy, drama and even special effects to create an “Old-Fashioned Entertainment with a Modern Flair”.

Now you can experience this amazing entertainment.   Audiences have raved about these shows calling it “Fabulous and not to be missed” as well as “A great experience…A new family tradition!”

 

Four Different Shows are Available

Four different shows are available to the public:

The Underground Railroad Experience:  The quest for freedom is brought to life in front of you with the story of slavery in America and the daring escapes to freedom.  Live, costumed actors pair with The Magic Lantern to tell this dramatic story. (July and August)

“This Is My Country”:  A memorable journey through the beginnings of our country including the early settlers at Plymouth Rock, the fight for American independence and the Civil War. “Fireworks explode overhead” and cannon’s roar in this wonderful story that is told through the eyes of one family. (July and August)

“A Christmas Journey”:  The Magic Lantern Show that should not be missed!  A joyful, humorous and powerful celebration of the Holidays.  Stories like “Twas The Night Before Christmas” and “A Christmas Carol” are just a part of this heartwarming show.  “A wonderful performance and experience”. (November and December)

AND NEW THIS YEAR:  For Halloween, the “Theater of Fear” opens for a limited run.  A mesmerizing experience based on “Phantasmagoria” shows of the 19th Century.  Featuring terrifying images from the 1800’s, a visit from Mr. Edgar Allan Poe who will be sharing several of his works and the amazing Edwina Nightshade and her special skills that are guaranteed to thrill. A one of a kind show that cannot be seen anywhere other than here at, “The Theater of Fear”! (late October to early November)
