JOSHUA is a brand-new, original stage production from Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster, PA. The show tells the story of Joshua from the Bible – spanning the Israelites’ journey out of Egypt, through the wilderness, and ending at the walls of Jericho.
This is not a revival or a touring production. JOSHUA has been in development for nearly three years and was designed from the ground up as a state-of-the-art live theater experience exclusive to the Lancaster, PA stage.
The narrative commences with the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt, culminating at the besieged Jericho. Throughout this journey, viewers are presented with pivotal scriptural occurrences, such as the Ten Commandments delivered at Mount Sinai, the miraculous provision of manna, and the Israelites’ crossing of the Jordan River. As Moses transfers leadership to Joshua, the strain intensifies; diminishing resources, the approach of hostile forces, and an unwavering divine mandate compel the young leader to confront the limits of his faith.
And then there’s Rahab, a character whose unexpected role behind enemy lines adds one of the production’s most powerful themes: radical, unlikely redemption.
