Time to Rally Hard for the Tasty Harbinger of Spring…Rhubarb!

Don’t miss the zany Kitchen Kettle Village Rhubarb Festival on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th.

All hail the pink and green as rhubarb arrives in Lancaster County and takes over Kitchen Kettle Village for our 35th Rhubarb Festival. What is a “rhubarb” you ask? It is one of two perennial vegetables and a reason to celebrate at Kitchen Kettle Village.

Kitchen Kettle Derby WinnerThe festival includes two fun-filled days where guests can enjoy the World’s Only Rhubarb Race Car Derby (yes, little dragsters made from rhubarb & raced on a real track), a “Bake a Pie…Save a Farm” Best Rhubarb Dessert in Lancaster County Baking Contest (open to bakers of all ages – the only stipulation is that your dessert must use rhubarb as an ingredient). You’ll also find delicious rhubarb inspired foods, 300lbs of fresh, local rhubarb for sale (rhubarb plants too), as well as live musicians and demonstrations. Not to be missed is our Rollicking Rhubarb Stroll (too small to be called a parade) featuring a float for our Rhubarb Royalty, costume characters, Kitchen Kettle’s own pink ladies, and new this year the “Little Pink Ladies & Magenta Gentlemen”, baton twirlers and more!

Kitchen Kettle Rhubarb King &Amp; QueenThe Kitchen Kettle Village Rhubarb Festival brings out the competitive spirit in our employees as they compete for the title of Rhubarb King and Queen, and the “Best Dressed Employee” award sporting fascinators, hats, tutus and more all for the love of rhubarb. We invite you to celebrate spring with us in Lancaster County and get to know rhubarb!
