Jump and jive your way back to the Big Band Era!

Dutch Apple - Swing Showblock

The music and dance phenomenon that swept the nation in the 30s and 40s hits Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre with the production of the original Broadway Swing! This exciting production brings the audience back to the Big Band Era with the dance style that enthralled a generation and is drawing new fans today. Swing! begins August 9 and runs through September 15, 2018.

Swing! will have you up out of your seat and ready to dust off your dancing shoes. The Dutch Apple production features a phenomenal eight-piece swing band on stage, led by music director JP Meyer. You’ll be tappin’ your toes and hummin’ along as the band plays. The cast of singers and dancers brings a high energy performance full of the greatest hits of the 30s and 40s like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, I’ll Be Seeing You, In the Mood, Stompin’ at the Savoy, It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing) and many more! Get ready to be transported back into the Big Band Era and see specialty styles of dance like Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Jive, Hip-Hop Swing and more!

Dutch Apple - Swing BassThe New York Post praised, “Swing! could hardly be more exuberant or fun…a sure winner.” Talkin’ Broadway proclaimed, “If you just want to have fun, this is the show to see.” Nominated for six Tony Awards in 2000 including Best Musical, whether you are nostalgic about a time past or discovering swing for the very first time, you’ll find that Swing! will put you in the mood.

Amy Marie McCleary is directing and choreographing Swing! after recently directing and choreographing Grease. McCleary’s credits include the recently extended national tour of Wizard of Oz (Choreographer; go to wizardofoztour.com for cities and dates), 2015 national tour of Memphis the Musical (Director/Choreographer) and Director/Choreographer of the recent Dutch Apple hits White Christmas, Peter Pan and Jesus Christ Superstar.
