Mount Hope MansionThe doors open February 2nd to the 10th season of Murder at Mount Hope Mansion where guests will be welcomed to the Victorian mansion for an interactive culinary “who-done-it”.

Each season, the storyline and accompanying menu changes. Past scenarios have included gangsters and flappers, Sherlock Holmes, a Vaudeville company and last year’s 1950’s Fallout Shelter. This year, guests will be immersed in preparations for a big game adventure in British East Africa (Kenya) 1911 at the stately Mt. Hope Big Game Lodge, rubbing elbows and swapping stories with a few of the world’s greatest guides, hunters and naturalists. Guests will be the envy of their social circle upon returning from this extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime journey.

Mount Hope Mansion BarAs guests arrive at the mansion, they are invited to visit the bar area for purchases of Swashbuckler Beers, Lancaster County Ciders, Mount Hope Wines and assortment of cocktails to enjoy with a displayed Charcuterie and butlered Shrimp and Chorizo Skewers and Deviled Eggs. Following the cocktail time, everyone will gather in the Chapel Room for introductions of the assembled cast members, portrayed by some of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire’s most memorable actors.

Mount Hope Winter SaladThe evening continues as guests find their assigned dinner seats to continue the event’s four-course meal with a Seasonal Salad, Sarfari One Pot (Pot Roast with Roasted Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes), and Kilimanjaro Cake (Chocolate Lava Cake). Vegetarian guests can pre-select an entrée of Winter Vegetables with Gnocchi when purchasing tickets. All guests should stay alert as cast members visit tableside to impart veiled clues to be collected and used to solve the evening’s murder.

Mount Hope InteractionAfter dessert is cleared, the gathered throng will return to the chapel to interrogate the suspects and uncover the guilty party. Humor ensues through the cross examination and questioning by audience and cast members alike. Three endings to the story invite guests to return for a different outcome on another evening.
