Amish Soup/ Vegetable Preserving and Fresh Bread

Experience Hands on vegetable soup canning and preserving lead by Amish homemakers using methods passed down generations. Create soups using fresh vegetables from local farms. Includes cutting vegetables into sizable pieces, mixing with spices,flour plus other ingredients. Boiling the jars to ensure sealing and preserving just the way grandmother did it. All the while enjoy the aroma of bread baking in the farmhouse oven. The bread dough is prepared by the farmer’s wife ahead of time, participants put the bread in the oven. Afterward the bread will be enjoyed/served with homemade butter and fresh soup.

Go home with a loaf of bread per family and a quart of soup per person.
