Forever Plaid Was a Hit With All Ages
Forever Plaid was a hit at the Living Waters Theater in Strasburg this past Sunday.
Servant Stage Company presented two performances to packed houses who were thrilled by the calibre of this musical production
The performances were spectacular. The four singers sang in beautiful harmony while interspersing their numbers with comedy and light-hearted fun that entertained all ages, from 8 to 80.
Popular numbers included Gotta Be This Or That/Undecided, SixteenTons/Chain Gang, Lady of Spain, and Love Is A Many Splendored Thing.
Our family’s favorite was Heart and Soul, where the cast selected a member of the audience to join them on stage for the performance. In this case, they happened to select my wife, Karen, who joined them at the keyboards for their rendition of Heart and Soul (Chopsticks).
These Performances Are Free to the Public
These performances are provided free to their guests by Servant Stage Company. They do ask for a donation from those who are able to give, but there is no obligation. The donations are used to provide these free performances to people who may not be able to pay for tickets themselves. During 2014 Servant Stage presented 70 performances for over 7,000 people in retirement communities, schools, and other local venues where they can reach people who may not otherwise be able to see performances of this calibre.
Servant Stage is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Their previous productions this year included Old-Time Gospel Radio Hour and HMS Pinafore. In December they’ll be performing A Christmas Carol.
Servant Stage will be presenting two more performances of Forever Plaid on August 16th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Lancaster Church of the Brethren. You can reserve tickets for those shows and learn more about Servant Stage at ServantStageCompany.com.
