Built by John Russell and Elias McMellen in 1847, this 103 foot long, 13 foot wide covered bridge spans the West Branch of the Octorara Creek in southeast Lancaster County. The original bridge was destroyed and rebuilt in 1884. The deck is made of oak planks with the traditional red paint on the outside with white color on both approaches.
