What’s with the name?
Main Street in Manheim was once called Prussian Street until the early 1920s. Paying homage to the rich past of the area — acknowledging the small businesses and creators that came before — was an important part of the naming of this unique venture. The word Arcade denotes a covered street or passage of neighboring shops — and that’s what you’ll see when you walk into the store. “It’s a little bit like walking down a small side street with shops and street vendors selling their goods.”, says Susan Ferrari, one of the owners.
She continues, “We are building an army of artists who can work together, presenting their creations to the world for the betterment of all.” And, you really can walk the entire store and feel the rejuvenating vibes and the positive energy poured into these store spaces by Prussian Street’s vendors.
