Artisan Days at The Shoppes at Miller’s

If you’re looking for a fall afternoon that’s more Lancaster County than big-box mall, Artisan Days at The Shoppes at Miller’s is worth a stop. On two Saturdays, October 3 and October 24, from 2 to 6 PM, local and regional makers set up inside the shops at 2811 Lincoln Highway East in Ronks. You can talk with them, taste their products and take home something you won’t find anywhere else.

Each date has its own lineup, so it’s worth picking the one that fits you (or going to both).

Saturday, October 3: Local flavors and Lancaster-inspired art

• Pepe Saya: artisan butter and cheeses made with cream and milk from local Amish farms
• Weaver’s of Wellsboro: savory Pennsylvania beef jerky
• Robert Wagner: local artist behind Lancaster-themed shirts and designer of the PA 250 bell at Rock Ford

Saturday, October 24: Fall gifts and treats

• Miesse Candies: a Lancaster County confectioner since 1875
• Handcrafted by Grace: infused olive oils, balsamic vinegars and artisan spice blends
• By Candle Light: traditional farmhouse-style soy candles

Both days include live hand-quilting demos by local quilters. It’s a good chance to see a Lancaster County tradition up close. You’ll also find handstitched quilts, handcrafted jewelry, home décor and locally made foods, so it’s an easy place to cross a few names off your holiday list early.
