An Image Representing Theater Of Fear Spooks With Victorian Chills This Halloween In Lancaster County, PaThe Magic Lantern Show is one Lancaster County’s most unique attractions, re-animating an art form all-the-rage in the late 1800’s.  Before there were movies, Magic Lantern shows were the Hollywood of the day.

Victorian audiences enjoyed many different themes, but spooky and macabre shows were extremely popular, spurring a genre called “Phantasmagoria.”  This style of Halloween show is being performed October 22 – November 2, 2019 at the Amish Experience Theater.

Featuring not only a live Magic Lantern showman performing as a ghoulish master of ceremonies, complete with authentic hand-painted Phantasmagoria imagery of the Victorian age, this show will also welcome Edgar Allen Poe to recite some of his more sinister works, followed by death-defying feats of danger and intrigue by a femme-fatale known as Edwina Nightshade.

Show time is 8:00pm nightly.
