They are known for their traditional and distinctive manner of dress, for using horse & buggy transportation, being off the public power grid, and not having TV’s or computers in their homes. These lodgings offer a unique experience, but they are quite simple and without many frills. Electricity is supplied in most lodgings via solar power. The guesthouses have heat in the colder months and fans for you to use in summer (a few also have AC).
