At Hands-on House, Children Can Play and Learn

Hands-on House Children’s Museum of Lancaster is designed for kids ages 2 – 10 years old and their parents, grandparents, or caregivers. It features a series of self-directed exhibits where children and adults can learn and play together. Adults are encouraged to let their kids take the lead and use their imagination. This is a world where kids can still be kids but can learn while exploring, creating, experimenting, and having fun in a safe, hands-on environment. During the warmer weather months, the museum also invites visitors to explore Mason’s Action Adventure Garden, a unique outdoor exhibit that combines areas for active play, connecting to nature, playing together, and using your imagination.

Hours and Admission

Hands-on House is open Tuesday – Sunday during the school year and Monday – Sunday during the summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day). You can check daily hours here. Generally, late afternoons tend to be less busy.

There is an admission charge for children and adults. However, your admission is good for the entire day, which means you can run out for lunch and return for more fun afterward. If you become a member, admission is free! Members receive a wide range of benefits in addition to unlimited free admission to the museum. Hands-on House accepts cash, checks, and credit card (Visa and MasterCard). Gift certificates are also available.
