Mud Sales Are Coming Soon (Lancaster, PA)

Posted in Amish Blog, Happenings on by .

The mud sales in Lancaster County, PA are coming! The 2018 season will begin shortly.

What is a Mud Sale?

Mud Sales are fund raising events for many of the regional volunteer fire companies throughout Lancaster County. These are big events, often with multiple auctions taking place simultaneously for quilts, household items, crafts, furniture, tools, farm equipment, building supplies, buggies – you name it and you may find it being auctioned here.

These are social gatherings, too, with lots of great home-cooked food, baked goods, and desserts. Mud Sales are very popular with locals as well as visitors. In our recent post highlighting the most popular pages at LancasterPA.com, two of the top three most popular events for the year were mud sales.

You haven’t been to a mud sale yet? Well, you need to experience at least one. You can see this year’s complete Mud Sale Schedule here.

The Strasburg Spring Mud Sale Starts the 2017 Season

When do the mud sales start this year? The first sale of the year will be the Strasburg Spring Consignment & Mud Sale on February 25th. Strasburg is traditionally the first sale of the year.

We have videos posted online for the Strasburg Spring Sale and the Gordonville Spring Mud Sale & Auction (March 10-11).

Again, you can see the complete schedule for the entire year. From there you can then link to brief descriptions of each sale along with addresses and map locations.

You can check out our complete Lancaster Events Calendar for a schedule of mud sales and other special events throughout the year.
