Women’s Open – Opening Day Shortened by Heavy Rain

The first round of the 2015 U.S. Open Women’s Championship was today at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, PA.

Rain was in the forecast for today, and eventually it cut short the round of 55 golfers still on the course this afternoon. Play was halted around 6 pm local time, just before heavy downpours hit the Lancaster area.

The first round will be completed at 6:45 am Friday morning before the second round play starts at 7:15 am

As of this point, Marina Alex and two-time champion Karrie Webb shared the early lead at 4 under par. They had both completed their rounds earlier in the day.
