Rush Tribute Band Solar Federation at Ephrata Main Theatre

November 19 - November 19, 2016

Central PA-based Rush tribute band Solar Federation will appear at Ephrata Main Theatre on Saturday, November 19 to commemorate the Canadian band’s legacy as one of rock music’s most respected trios and celebrated live acts.

Rush recently commemorated its 40th anniversary with a career-spanning tour that is likely to be the band’s last. “The timing is right for us,” explained Solar Federation’s drummer and founding member, Ffej Herb. “Interest in Rush is at an absolute peak right now, and there is a high demand from fans to see and hear this music played live on stage.”

The event will also feature a free screening of the R40 Live concert, officially released by Rush in November 2015. The two-and-a-half-hour concert film will follow Solar Federation’s performance, which will feature a 90-minute set comprised exclusively of songs not performed during the retrospective R40 Tour.

The word is out and spreading quickly about Solar Federation. After only a handful of local shows, the band has established a well-deserved buzz from fans for its meticulous interpretation of the material, attention to detail, and vocalist Julie Schreiber’s passionate delivery of Rush’s dynamic melodies and thought-provoking lyrics.

“You can’t fake it with this band,” said Herb. “Rush fans are incredibly loyal and know the music inside and out. We rehearsed for an entire year before we even posted a teaser video on our Facebook page.”

And fans are starting to take notice. Chatter on Clockwork Angels, the most popular Rush fan page on Facebook, and other related sites has been overwhelmingly positive. The band also captured the attention of RushCon, the largest North American gathering of Rush fans, and in August 2016 appeared as its “Tribute Band of the Month” on RushCon.org. Members of the band have also appeared on Digital Men, the premier podcast dedicated to Rush.

Rush has long been recognized for its legions of devoted fans from all corners of the world. “I was floored to learn that people travel from all over the Mid-Atlantic region to attend our shows,” said Herb. “To me, that not only speaks volumes about the loyalty of Rush fans, but it’s also a testament to the quality of our band.”

Ephrata Main Theatre is located at 124 E. Main St, Ephrata, PA inside the Brossman Building. Tickets are strictly limited to 175 seats. The show is open to all ages and advance tickets are available for $10 at www.ephratamain.com or $12 at the door.

Hailing from Central PA, Solar Federation performs the music of Canadian progressive rock icons Rush with passion and precision, tuning into all of the fine details that fans dissect with every spin of an album. Establishing itself as the premier female-fronted Rush tribute in PA, Solar Federation is the brainchild of seasoned drummer Ffej Herb, who assembled this talented group of fellow Rush devotees including Julie Schreiber (vocals), Eric Wirsing (guitar), Mike Bitts (bass), and Joe Cin (keyboards/rhythm guitar). In order to tackle the enormous undertaking of performing Rush’s music at a level deemed acceptable to its fans, Solar Federation spent an entire year honing its set list and rehearsing what is often called the most complex and difficult music to perform in all of rock music.
