Lititz Spring Into History Festival
June 1 - June 1, 2019

Join us on June 1st for our Lititz Spring Into History Festival!
FREE ENTRY! The event is one day on Saturday, June 1, 2019 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Lititz Historical Foundation, 145 E. Main St., Lititz, PA 17543
Come see how early Lititz settlers lived, worked and played!

Artisans scheduled to appear:
-Debbie Houck, natural dyeing and hand-spun yarns
-Marsha Campbell, hand-braiding wool chair pads and rugs
-Laura Koebnick, black ash basketry, Shaker style
-David Carlson, 18th century textiles, spinning, weaving
-Shelby Buckwalter and Sue Steffy of Suzannes Soaps. This mother-daughter team will be making old fashioned soap balls and shaving soaps at our festival. https://suzannessoaps.com
-Eric and Kim Weit will be processing flax
-Lynnette Miller, milliner, who will be making bonnets and hats
-Herbalist (and the Lititz Historical Foundation’s own herb gardener) Lee Ann Martin will be working with dried herbs at the festival, and discussing the many historic uses of herbs.
-Tinsmith Winfield S. Harrison will be making 18th and 19th century tinware.
-Gary Hockenbroch will be demonstrating wood turning on a treadle lathe. And, he will offer handmade woodcrafts including clocks, bowls and cutting boards and corner cupboards for sale.
-Larry Long will demonstrate whitesmithing. He will start with a blacksmith item, file and embellish it to look silver or white (hence, “whitesmithing”).
– Darlene Roehm will be on hand and caning chair seats at the festival, both fiber-rush and shaker style.
-Faye Hegener will be at the Festival demonstrating the art of bobbin lace making
-Sharon Peffer will be demonstrating tape looming
-Five members of the Reist family will host three displays: Conestoga wagon, tobacco stand, and blacksmithing.
-Todd Eaby of Twisted Timber Creations, who will be hand-carving wooden spoons and utensils at our Festival June 1st! If you’ve ever wanted to see a schnitzelbank in action, come see this master at work!
More than a dozen local and regional artisans dedicated to historic authenticity and quality craftsmanship will be demonstrating antique trades.
-Hot food will be available for purchase
Delicious, regional desserts including fruit pie, whoopie pies, shoofly pie, Moravian sugar cake, coffee and mint tea will be available
Plus, Artisans will offer authentic, handmade items for sale
Revolutionary War reenactors Gary Meyers and friends will set up camp and talk to visitors about their gear and camp supplies.Lititz HisLi
