What Are the Dining Options at Good ‘N Plenty Restaurant?

Posted in Happenings on by .

At Good ‘N Plenty, there are three ways to dine: family-style, off the menu, or takeout. Here, we explain the differences, so you can choose the option that best suits you.

Family Style Dining

Family-style is the most popular dining option offered at the restaurant. It is all-you-can eat, but it’s not set up like a buffet. The wait staff will bring platters and bowls of food to the table for you to share with your tablemates. The food will keep coming until you say stop!

The dining room is set up with rows of tables where you will sit with other guests. Our hostess will introduce everyone and encourage you all to share where you’re from. You’re likely to meet people from all over the world.

The family-style menu has 3 courses: appetizers, meats and side dishes, and dessert. Beverages are also included. Don’t worry – the famous fried chicken is always on the menu, along with two other meat selections (a beef dish and a pork dish are always on the menu).

If you’ve never dined family style before, you’re in for a fun experience. Kids 3 and under are free!

Off-the-Menu Dining

For a more private dining experience or if you’re short on time, choose the menu option.

The menu features customer favorites, such as fried chicken, freshly sliced roast beef, pork & sauerkraut, and roast turkey entrees.

You can choose from a variety of sides and salads too (we recommend trying the brown buttered noodles and house made pepper cabbage slaw). Then, finish off your meal with a slice of homemade shoofly pie from the on-site bakery or a dip of homemade ice cream that is also made on site.

Takeout Meals

This is a newer menu option that allows you to order ahead for pick up. Orders are taken over the phone or in person.

All items on the menu are available for takeout. It takes about 15-20 minutes to prepare an order for takeout. Major credit cards are accepted.

Stuck at home or can’t leave the office? Delivery is available through GrubHub.

What Guests Rave About

We combed through Google reviews, TripAdvisor, and Yelp reviews to find out what people like most about their Good ‘N Plenty experience. Here’s what we found.

Fried chicken

“Ate at the a la carte restaurant and ordered fried chicken plate (they let you pick your pieces, so I got a thigh and 2 wings) with mashed potatoes with gravy, brussel sprouts, and a side of fried corn. The chicken was super crispy and so juicy!” (TripAdvisor review)

“We had fried chicken, meatloaf, ham, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttery noodles, and green beans. The fried chicken was outstanding. It was crispy yet juicy and so flavorful.” (Yelp review)

Portion sizes

“Absolutely the best Pennsylvania Dutch food I have ever had. Very generous portions. Prices were nice and low. From the door to the table to the register all very happy friendly and always smiling staff members.” (Google review)

“The food was so fresh and delicious. You also get a lot of food. Best to go with a group so you can get your own table.” (Google review)

“After eating a family style meal, we went to the bakery to buy some treats to take home. We picked up some breads, cookies pies and fresh butter. The baked goods are delicious.” (TripAdvisor review)

“The bakery has a bunch of assorted goodies from whoopi pies, cookies, cakes, ect.. We always make sure we get the whoopi pies and cookies that have just been made that day. So much fresher and oh so good! This is a must place to stop in when visiting Lancaster!” (TripAdvisor review)

Friendly staff

“This was our first visit to a family style restaurant with our 2-year-old and newborn. I was nervous about our young children disrupting the other people at our table. But even with the baby crying and the toddler throwing food, we had a great time. All of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our waitress Joyce went above and beyond to make our dinner an enjoyable experience. The food was absolutely delicious. The best fried chicken I have ever had and very tender roast beef. Homemade ice cream to finish. This was our best dinner out in the area!” (TripAdvisor review)

“Bakery had great food, very friendly staff. We didn’t stay long so we didn’t have time to eat dinner. Our toddler loved the goats in the petting zoo.” (Google review)
